Washington, DC—January 17, 2024…Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) voted today to denounce the Biden Administration's open-border policies, condemn the national security and public safety crisis along the southwest border, and urge President Biden to end his Administration's open-border policies. Congressman Womack said, “Through executive actions and blatant refusal to enforce the law, President Biden has caused a disaster of unprecedented proportions on our southern border. Terrorists and drug cartels alike have flooded the border, compromising America’s safety and security. I urge President Biden to stop this madness by reinstating the effective Trump-era policies at his disposal.” Click here for the legislative text of H. Res. 957. Womack has been a steadfast advocate of border security and committed to legislatively enacting strong reforms to fully revamp our immigration policies. He has seen the devastation at the southern border firsthand, voted to authorize border wall construction, called for reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy, expressed the need for elimination of catch and release measures, and previously supported comprehensive proposals that would have delivered a working, lawful, and effective immigration system. |
