Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 8, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2018. This bipartisan legislation authorizes funding for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects, allowing for improvements to the nation’s ports, inland waterways, locks and dams, flood protection, ecosystem restoration, and other water resources infrastructure for the next two years.

“Water infrastructure is a critical component to our country’s transportation system. This year’s WRDA builds on the continued progress and goals of maintaining and improving America’s transportation network and efficiently moving commerce throughout Arkansas and the nation, while also promoting economic growth and jobs. WRDA works, and I look forward to its passage in the Senate.”
