Washington, DC – March 30, 2023…. Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) voted in support of H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, which just passed the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation would lower costs for families by increasing domestic energy production, reforming the permitting process for all industries, reversing anti-energy policies advanced by the Biden Administration, streamlining energy infrastructure and exports, and boosting the production and processing of critical minerals. Congressman Womack said, "On day one in office, President Biden began his assault on American-made energy, and our nation has felt the devastating effects. His shortsighted decisions immediately killed thousands of jobs, drove up energy costs, and threatened our national security by making us reliant on foreign nations like Russia, China, and Venezuela. Today, House Republicans stood up for the American people and took a step toward reversing our president's unsustainable and dangerous plan. I will continue supporting ways to get America back to what innovative and hardworking Americans do best: producing clean, reliable, and affordable energy to power our nation and the world." Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee. ### |
