Womack Votes to Strengthen Refugee Vetting Process, Protect America

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 4038, the American Security Against Foreign Enemies (SAFE) Act of 2015:

“The safety and security of the American people is my top priority, which is why I am proud to cosponsor and vote in favor of the American SAFE Act.  We must strengthen our vetting and security policies to stop President Obama from haphazardly admitting waves of Syrian refugees and ensure that individuals associated with terrorism cannot enter our nation and our communities.  More must be done, and I will continue to fight for policies that protect our homeland.”

Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Financial Services and General Government, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget.
