Well, I've officially arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana for the 2011 Offshore Energy Tour. I'm excited to join Congressman Steve Scalise (LA) along with Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (MI), Energy and Environment Subcommittee Chairman Ed Whitfield (KY), Congressman Gene Green (TX), and Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS) in meeting with stakeholders from the Louisiana energy industry, visiting with offshore drilling workers, touring an offshore drilling platform, and participating in boat and aerial tours of the Louisiana coast.
This is a great opportunity to learn and promote America's independence from foreign energy. I want to see first-hand how we can take advantage of American resources, lower energy prices, and create jobs.
