Womack Votes for Full-Year Spending Package to Fund Departments of State, Treasury, and More

WASHINGTON, D.C. — January 14, 2026… Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today voted in support of the Financial Services and General Government and the National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2026. The two-bill package provides full-year funding for the Departments of State and Treasury, as well as the Federal Communications Commission, Federal Trade Commission, Small Business Administration, and related agencies.

Congressman Womack said, “Today, the House is once again moving closer to fulfilling Congress’s Article I responsibility with the passage of this package that provides strategic funding for the State Department and the Treasury. These updated, right‑sized funding levels will help advance our foreign policy objectives and support economic growth at home. Congress is now more than halfway through its appropriations work, and it is imperative that we keep going. A long‑term continuing resolution is simply not an acceptable option.”

Congressman Womack continued, “As we enter the final week to complete our work, we must maintain this momentum and advance the remaining appropriations bills—including my bill, the Fiscal Year 2026 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act—across the finish line. This spending bill will deliver millions of dollars in direct investments for communities across Arkansas’s Third District, and we cannot afford to delay its passage.”

Bill highlights

Bolsters U.S. national security by

  • Allocating substantial funding for the Foreign Military Financing Program to support our allies, such as Israel and Taiwan, against foreign adversaries.
  • Delivering strong funding for the International Military Education and Training Program to enhance military alliances and international cooperation.
  • Providing investments in drug interdiction efforts to stop deadly fentanyl and other narcotics from entering our communities.

Protects taxpayer dollars and promotes economic growth by

  • Cutting IRS enforcement funding to rein in a supercharged agency targeting hardworking Americans and, instead, focuses resources on customer service to support a more streamlined tax season.
  • Providing funding for the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, which lends to small businesses, affordable housing developers, and similar endeavors.
  • Funding the Small Business Administration, supporting entrepreneurship and small business development.

Protects our judicial system by

  • Directing funding toward court security to ensure judges, their families, and employees are protected.
  • Prioritizing resources to strengthen the Federal Judiciary’s cybersecurity.

Strengthens American elections by

  • Allocating funding for the Election Security Grant Program to assist states in improving election technology and security.
