Womack Hosts SBA Administrator Guzman in Arkansas’ Third District

Rogers, AR—July 18, 2024…Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) invited U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman to Northwest Arkansas to survey damage from the Memorial Day weekend storms, engage with small businesses, and receive an update on the recovery process from local, state, and federal officials.

Congressman Womack said, “My office and I have worked hand in hand with the SBA since the devastating Memorial Day weekend tornadoes hit our hometown. This visit allowed us to share our appreciation for dedicated local leaders and organizations' disaster response, receive a status update, and discuss the prospects for creating a more resilient community. Northwest Arkansas is strong and well-positioned to overcome any obstacle, but the SBA’s resources are critical to getting the business community back and better than ever. I’m incredibly grateful Administrator Guzman visited the Third District to hear directly from the homeowners, renters, and businesses impacted, further guiding us down the road to recovery."

SBA Administrator Guzman said, “When disaster strikes, the Small Business Administration steps in immediately to provide critical financial relief to help impacted community members rebuild, recover, and become more resilient. Recent tornadoes have taken a devastating toll on Northwest Arkansas and the Third District in particular. From Day One, Congressman Womack has worked closely with the SBA to ensure we could provide assistance to the business owners, homeowners, and renters as we embark on the long road to recovery. I was grateful to join the Congressman today to hear firsthand from survivors about their needs and to reaffirm the SBA's commitment to being there for the community as long as it takes.
