Womack Cosponsored Measure Halting Biden’s Latest Student Loan Handout Passes House

Washington, DC—December 7, 2023… Today, Congressman Steve Womack’s (AR-3) cosponsored legislation that protects taxpayers from the latest Biden Administration student loan handout passed the U.S. House of Representatives. H.J. Res. 88 nullifies the Biden Administration’s Income-Driven Repayment program. Congressman Womack said, “Let’s be clear—there’s no such thing as ‘canceling’ student loans. Someone always has to pay the debt. With the Biden Administration’s proposals, it’s the American taxpayer footing the bill, many of whom never went to college or have already honored what they owe. I’m glad my cosponsored resolution to nullify this unfair regulation—which would cost everyday Americans hundreds of billions of dollars—passed the House.” Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011.
