Washington, DC—July 28, 2022....Today, the National Retail Federation recognized Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) as a “Hero of Main Street” for his continued support of the retail industry through legislative action and leadership.

Congressman Womack said, “The entrepreneurial spirit of Arkansas is one of our greatest strengths. Small businesses are job creators and the engine of our economy, and I will always champion pro-growth policies that boost opportunity and Main Street retailers. It’s an honor to be recognized for these efforts.”

The Hero of Main Street award is based on key votes, bill sponsorship, and advocacy to advance retailers’ priorities. Recipients have supported policies that recognize the contributions of the retail industry and have worked to encourage a vibrant, sustained, and healthy retail sector.

The National Retail Federation is the world’s largest retail trade association advocating for the people, brands, policies, and ideas that help retail thrive. The overwhelming majority of retailers are small businesses, with more than 98 percent of all retail companies employing fewer than 50 people.
