Womack Statement on Federal Funding Extension
Washington,
February 8, 2022
Washington, DC—February 8, 2022….Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement after the House passed a short-term funding extension: “Legislating by continuing resolution is far from responsible, but it keeps the government running. Finally devoid of poison pills and a product of bipartisan consensus, this stopgap continues funding levels secured by the previous administration. My vote is purposed in keeping good-faith negotiations going as Congress works across party lines to deliver full-year, responsible appropriations. I hope my Democrat colleagues continue to be genuine and negotiate in earnest. With exploding inflation and debt, we need to be duly focused on implementing comprehensive blueprints that bring sanity to our nation’s fiscal trajectory.” Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee. ### |
