Republican Appropriators Oppose Changing Pro-Life Protections
Washington,
April 7, 2021
Washington, DC—April 7, 2021….Today, Congressman Steve Womack (R-AR) joined Republican Leader of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), and other members in sending a letter to Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) urging the Majority to keep all existing pro-life protections in the fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills. The letter comes as the Biden Administration prepares the discretionary budget request for FY22 and the Committee starts the annual appropriations process. “For more than four decades, across multiple Administrations and Congresses led by both Democrats and Republicans, language has been included in the Labor-Health and Human Services Appropriations bill that restricts federal taxpayer funding for abortion under most circumstances,” the members wrote. Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee. ### |
