Washington, DC—May 27, 2020….Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) honored the life of former Congressman Sam Johnson (R-TX) who recently passed away:

“I never served with a better example of American heroism than Sam. Seven years as a POW at the infamous Hanoi Hilton and nearly 4 years in solitary confinement, he endured for the freedom and values we cherish as a nation. A true inspiration and patriot of the highest caliber, he was dedicated to the principles that define what it means to be an American. His life’s work embodied service to others, and I hope his legacy will inspire generations to come. It was a privilege to know him, and my prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.”
