Washington, DC—March 27, 2020....Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the below statement regarding today’s House passage of the CARES Act. The legislation will now head to President Trump’s desk for signature: “History has shown that our state and nation will always rise above every challenge. This is an unprecedented crisis, which requires a robust and targeted response on all levels. The CARES Act will provide emergency relief to families, small businesses, workers, hospitals, and medical professionals. While this time of uncertainty has presented difficulties, it has also shown the strength of Americans. Our country has rallied together to support one another, and I am proud that Congress once again acted today to deliver much-needed resources to protect the livelihoods of residents and help restore our great nation. We will overcome this threat and emerge stronger—that is the American way.” Earlier today, Rep. Womack spoke on the House floor to discuss the legislation.
