Womack Statement on President Trump’s Middle East Peace Strategy

Washington, DC—January 28, 2020....Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the below statement following President Trump’s newly announced Middle East peace plan. The strategy focuses on achieving peace, security, and opportunity for Israel and the Palestinian people: “Today, the United States reaffirmed its commitment to securing peace in the Middle East. No nation can create a safer and more prosperous global community alone – and it is time for Israeli and Palestinian leaders to lay a new foundation. On behalf of the people, they have the opportunity to resume negotiations and take bold action for a brighter future. Centuries of hostilities won’t be solved overnight – but comprehensive peace is within the grasp of those willing to forge a transformative path.
