Womack Statement on House Passage of Supplemental Aid

Washington, DC—June 27, 2019....Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement after the House passed bipartisan legislation that will provide needed aid and resources to address the humanitarian and security crisis at the southern border. The legislation will now go to President Trump for signature:

“Inaction was not an option, and I’m glad that House Democrats finally stopped blocking a vote on this bipartisan package. With today’s House passage, Congress has finally provided desperately needed humanitarian relief for children and families, as well as resources for overburdened personnel. The urgency shouldn’t end here - we must continue working to tackle the root causes of this growing crisis.”

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He serves as the Ranking Member of the House Committee on the Budget and is a member of the House Appropriations defense and transportation, housing and urban development subcommittees.
