Washington, DC – January 18, 2019….Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement on the importance of protecting life and the unborn following the annual March for Life event in Washington.

“Each year, thousands of Americans march to stand up for life and the unborn. It is our moral obligation to fight for the voiceless, and I commend all the Arkansans and advocates who continually work to uphold the dignity of every life. Human life is sacred and must be protected – I will always defend these values in Congress.”

Congressman Womack is a staunch defender of life. In the 116^th Congress, he has already cosponsored the Heartbeat Protection Bill and Sanctity of Human Life Act. He, alongside other members, also recently sent a letter to President Trump urging him to veto any measure that would infringe on federal pro-life policy. These actions build on Rep. Womack’s pro-life record during his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, which includes voting for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, as well as legislation that bars the use of federal funds for abortion, increases protections for babies who survive failed abortions, and defunds Planned Parenthood.
