Womack Re-Elected to Influential House Steering Committee

Washington, DC – November 28, 2018….Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement after being re-elected to serve on the House Republican Steering Committee. The Steering Committee recommends members of the U.S. House of Representatives for committee assignments and chairmanships after analyzing a range of factors, including member background, expertise on issues, and level of seniority. This is Womack’s third term on the Republican Steering Committee, where he represents members from Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico.

“It’s an honor to serve on the Steering Committee, and I thank my colleagues for entrusting me to be their voice through this process again. We have a lot of work to do in the years ahead and strong leadership will be critical to turning our priorities into results. I am committed to working on behalf of representatives from Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico to make informed recommendations that advance our conservative, pro-growth agenda. My goal is to always position members for success, and in a way that allows them to serve their constituents and the American people in the strongest way possible.”

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget and is a member of the House Appropriations defense, military construction-veterans affairs, and labor-health and human services subcommittees. Additionally, he co-chairs the Joint Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform.
