Womack Statement on Committee Passage of Defense Spending Bill

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement today after the advancement of the fiscal year 2019 Defense Appropriations bill out of committee. This bill provides $674.6 billion total for fiscal year 2019 to support our troops on the front lines. “Providing for the common defense is a national imperative. Advancing this bill out of committee builds on the significant progress we have made in restoring America’s national defense capability. For the men and women deployed around the globe ready to fight tonight, this bill ensures they are properly manned, trained, and equipped to do our nation’s bidding.”
Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget and is a member of the House Appropriations defense, military construction-veterans affairs, and labor-health and human services subcommittees.
