Womack Statement on Failure to Pass Farm Bill
Washington,
May 18, 2018
Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement after H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 failed to pass the House. The House will continue consideration of H.R. 2 in the upcoming weeks. “I am disappointed that important legislation benefiting agriculture and food safety has been caught in the crossfire of a totally unrelated issue – a feud within the House on immigration. I am hopeful we will see the vote recalled and the Farm Bill passed. Our farmers and ranchers deserve better.”
Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget and is a member of the House Appropriations defense, military construction-veterans affairs, and labor-health and human services subcommittees.
