Womack Elected to Serve Second Term as Chairman of West Point Board of Visitors

WASHINGTON — Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after he was elected to serve a second term as Chairman of the United States Military Academy (USMA) Board of Visitors (BOV): 

“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as the USMA Board of Visitors Chairman for a second term. Leader development is the key to maintaining the best Army in the world, and West Point is clearly the finest leadership institution on the planet. It's a great honor to lead this outstanding board.”

The USMA BOV is charged with inquiring into the morale and discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods, and other matters relating to the academy that the board decides to consider. Womack was first appointed to the BOV in 2012 by Speaker John Boehner. He was elected BOV Chairman in 2017.


  Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on the Budget and is a member of the House Appropriations Defense, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees.
