Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement after the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Resolution was passed out of Committee:
“I am inspired by the budget that my colleagues and I have worked hard to move to the full House last night. Our resolution draws a path forward for achieving a balanced budget in 10 years, without raising taxes, and places the government on a fiscal course sustainable for the long term. While promoting economic growth, the budget also ensures a strong national defense and improved sustainability of Medicare and other mandatory programs that run the risk of saddling future generations with mountains of debt. I am confident that this budget will put us on a course to reduce our annual deficits and out-of-control debt while ensuring the safety and prosperity of our country in a lasting way. This budget is about building a better America with a stronger future and I am glad to see it finally move forward for support in the whole House.”
Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget.
