Womack Statement on WOTUS Rule
Washington,
June 27, 2017
Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the below statement on the Trump Administration's withdrawal of the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule:
"In 2015, the Obama Administration proposed one of the most controversial environmental regulations in recent history: the Waters of the United States Rule. Today, President Trump and EPA Administrator Pruitt announced a repeal of this federal invasion. This directive was nothing more than executive overreach, and would have caused inexplicable encroachment upon the property of our nation’s small businesses and farmers. I have fought against this dangerous policy since its introduction, and I applaud the executive branch for making this reversal a priority” Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget. |
