Womack Statement on FY 2018 Budget

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the below statement following the release of President Trump’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 Budget:

“The budget signals a desire to make needed reforms to major programs like SNAP and Medicaid, but ignores the primary drivers of the deficit and debt—runaway entitlement programs.  Any attempt to balance the books of the Federal Government without addressing entitlement reform is unrealistic.  Plus, banking on a sustained growth rate of 3% in the economy is a dangerous assumption.”

Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget.
