Womack Statement on Swearing-in of President Donald J. Trump
Washington,
January 20, 2017
Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump took the oath and was sworn into office:
“Today, I was proud to stand with my wife, Terri, on the West Front of the Capitol to witness the swearing-in of America’s 45th President Donald J. Trump and 48th Vice President Michael R. Pence. For the past eight years, Republicans in Congress have fought to protect the conservative values of our center-right country and fought back against a liberal agenda that was to the detriment of our people. We and the American people alike were frustrated to have the good work coming out of Congress stonewalled rather than having an Administration willing to work with us. “This historic day brings much promise and the opportunity for which we’ve been waiting. The responsibility is on us, and we have much to do. Together with the Trump Administration, I believe the 115th Congress will do exactly what the American people have asked of us. My sleeves are rolled up, and I’m ready.” Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget.
