Womack Supports Committee Passage of Balanced Budget for a Stronger America
Washington,
March 16, 2016
Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after the House Budget Committee passed the fiscal year 2017 budget, A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America: “Our nation’s $19 trillion debt threatens America’s ability to ensure the safety and security of our people, our allies, and our interests. It is imperative that we get our country off this fiscally-reckless path. By cutting $7 trillion in spending, repealing Obamacare, making critical reforms to mandatory programs, and balancing in a decade while raising no new taxes and ensuring that our nation’s defense remains uncompromised, this budget is our roadmap. I am proud to support it.” Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Financial Services and General Government, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget. ### |
