Womack Responds to POTUS FY17 Budget

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following video in response to the release of President Obama’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 budget request:

“Well, here it is: The President’s 2017 budget… Two thousand pages.  $4 trillion in spending.  It represents an increase in spending of $2.5 trillion over the ten-year window, and it raises taxes on hardworking Americans by nearly $3.5 trillion over the same ten-year window.  And you know what, it never balances.

“House Republicans understand that the tax and spend mentality of this administration is not our way out of this mess.  In the weeks and months ahead, we’re going to present a plan, a budget if you will, that will balance in the ten-year window, that will address the drivers of the deficits and debt that plague the long-term economy, and will not do it by raising taxes on hardworking Americans.”

Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Financial Services and General Government, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget.
