Womack Votes to Send Reconciliation Act to President's Desk
Washington,
January 6, 2016
Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after passage of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act: “For the first time, Congress has placed a repeal of the most onerous parts of Obamacare and an elimination of federal funding for Planned Parenthood on President Obama’s desk, forcing him to make a tough choice: respect the will of the American people or protect his namesake law and Planned Parenthood. Unfortunately, his decision will be disappointingly predictable. “There is no reason the American taxpayer should be forced to continue subsidizing the nation’s largest abortion provider, and the American people are sick and tired of this Administration’s disregard for the unborn, the stability of our health care system, and the financial wellbeing of this country. There is no doubt we would be better off if this bill was signed into law.” Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Financial Services and General Government, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget. ### |
