Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after House passage of H.R. 5, the Student Success Act:  

“Education is the foundation for our children’s – and our nation’s – long-term prosperity.  Unfortunately, important decisions about what’s best for our students have been left in the hands of federal bureaucrats, whose sweeping mandates have failed to improve student achievement.  The Student Success Act returns control to where it belongs: the state and local level, empowering school districts nationwide, parents, and local education leaders, who know their communities, their students, and their needs, to uniquely innovate and improve their education systems without incessant federal overreach.  I am proud to support H.R. 5 and put our students first.”
