Womack Urges Senate to Pass Keystone XL

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement in response to the passage of H.R. 5682, a bill which authorizes the construction, connection, operation, and maintenance of the Keystone XL pipeline:

“Building the Keystone XL would put thousands of Americans to work, set the momentum for more plants, pipelines, and transmission lines to be built, and ultimately drive down the price of gas at the pump for and the cost to heat the homes of Americans.  It would also  make it practical – and affordable – for manufacturers to bring production back to America.  But unfortunately, for over six years, the administration has inexplicably refused to take action on it.  Americans deserve better, and Americans want – and need – the opportunities created by the Keystone XL.  I hope the Senate will listen to the American people and join us in passing this bipartisan legislation straightaway.”
