Womack Opposes Obama's Unilateral Release of Taliban 5

Washington, D.C., September 9, 2014

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement after the House passed H. Res. 644, a resolution condemning the administration’s failure to notify Congress before releasing terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay:

“By acting unilaterally to release the Taliban 5, President Obama has jeopardized the safety of our nation and our people. His decision amounts to negotiating with terrorists, which the American people can neither afford nor tolerate. I am proud to sponsor and support H.Res. 644, which condemns his actions in the strongest words possible.”
