Womack to Senate: Keep Government Open, Delay Obamacare
Washington, D.C.,
September 29, 2013
The House today amended and passed H.J.Res 59, the Senate-passed continuing resolution (CR), funding the government through December 15, 2013. The first amendment delays Obamacare’s implementation until January 1, 2015. The second amendment permanently repeals Obamacare’s medical device excise tax. After passage, Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement: “Keeping the government open and protecting Americans from Obamacare; these are the everyday concerns of the American people, and we are serious about them. I challenge the Senate to not only acknowledge that this law is a train wreck, but also to act in the best interest of the American people and join the House in passing today’s CR, which ensures the government stays open while giving hardworking taxpayers relief from Obamacare’s suffocating regulations and overbearing mandates for an additional year.” ###
