Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement after Health Management Associates, Inc. (HMA) today announced its new Regional Service Center is coming to Fort Smith:

“Today, HMA announced that its Regional Service Center will make Fort Smith its home, bringing 500 new, high quality jobs to our community.  This is exciting and welcomed news for the Third District.   I thank HMA for its investment in the River Valley and the Fort Smith Regional Chamber, Governor Beebe, and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission for their steadfast commitment to the betterment of the city.”

The Regional Service Center will employ over 500 associates, create over $21 million in gross annual compensation, and serve approximately 27 Health Management hospitals with functions such as billing, insurance verification, scheduling, and collections, as well as other shared services.  The Center will be located at 4600 Towson Avenue, which is the site of the former Phoenix Village Mall.
