WASHINGTON—Congressman Steve Womack released the following statement regarding his vote in favor of extending the pay limitation for members of Congress and federal employees (H.R. 3835):

    "Americans continue to struggle in this difficult economy and many remain unemployed.  Freezing pay of federal workers—specifically members of Congress—is leading by example and absolutely the right thing to do under these circumstances.”
