The office of Congressman Womack is now accepting applications for our 2011 DC summer internship program.
March 23, 2011 WASHINGTON – The office of Congressman Womack is now accepting applications for our 2011 DC summer internship program. Those interested in learning more about the workings of the United States Congress and federal legislation affecting Arkansas are encouraged to apply. A congressional internship is an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of daily congressional activities, professional contacts, and an unforgettable experience working in our nation’s capitol. Responsibilities include attending hearings, preparing legislative reports, researching specific issues, compiling information to respond to constituents inquiries, handling incoming mail and data entry, giving visiting constituents tours of the Capitol, and performing general office duties. During the summer we offer two five-week internship sessions. Session I will take place from May 31st- July 1st. Session II will take place from July 5th-August 5th. Though internships are unpaid, students will receive valuable experience and knowledge that will serve well in future employment and endeavors. To be eligible, you must have completed at least two years of college work. All applications must be received by April 11th to be considered for a 2011 summer internship.
