He is committed to defending life and has continually taken action in Congress to support important pro-life legislation and prohibit taxpayer dollars from funding abortion.

Upholding Pro-Life Protections in Appropriations: As Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government (FSGG), Womack included strong pro-life language in the subcommittee’s appropriations bill.
Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act: The bill reinforces the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002 by establishing affirmative federal protections for babies who are born alive after an attempted abortion.
No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act: This bill applies the longstanding Hyde amendment government-wide, including to Obamacare, and makes it permanent.
Defund Planned Parenthood Act: This bill prohibits federal funding for Planned Parenthood or any of their affiliates and clinics unless they certify that they will not perform abortions for one year.
Condemning Attacks on Pro-life Facilities: The resolution condemns attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches and calls on the Biden Administration to use appropriate law enforcement authorities to support their safety.
Reining in Extreme Government Overreach Relating to Abortion: An amendment within the REINS Act would rein in executive actions by ensuring any such actions related to abortion would require Congressional approval before going into effect.
Blocking Democrats’ Mail Order Abortion Policy: A procedural motion offered by Democrats would have removed a critical pro-life provision from the FY24 Agriculture Appropriations bill to rein in the Biden Administration’s dangerous and illegal mail order abortion policy.
Blocking Democrats’ Funding to Foreign NGOs Performing Abortions: A procedural motion offered by Democrats would have removed the pro-life language in the FY24 State and Foreign Operations Appropriations bill that prohibits funding to foreign NGOs that perform or promote abortion overseas (known as the Global Protect Life Rule).
