Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) today released the following statement in response to Speaker John Boehner’s announced resignation as Speaker of the House and from Congress:

“John Boehner is a great man with arguably the most difficult job in public service, and in spite of that, he has led with distinction and compassion during a period of great difficulty.  He loves our members, the institution, and our country.  It shows.  I thank him for doing this tireless job and wish him the best in his retirement.”

Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 and serves on the House Appropriations Defense, Financial Services and General Government, and Labor-Health and Human Services subcommittees and the House Committee on the Budget.
