On Thursday afternoon, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2112, the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of 2012. Congressman Steve Womack, along with the rest of Arkansas’ House delegation, voted in favor of the bill.

Womack released the below statement following the passage of H.R. 2112. The details of the bill can be found HERE.

“I am pleased that the work of a determined appropriations committee, led by Chairman Hal Rogers and Ranking Member Norm Dicks, finished this mini-bus within the budget framework in the Budget Control Act.

“Of note during this process, was the restoration of regular order to the workings of the House, and specifically, the Appropriations Committee. Americans want evidence that Congress can actually get things done.  Committee leadership, members, and conferees on both sides of the aisle deserve to be commended for this effort.”

“Reducing Federal spending has been a priority of this congress, and the numbers reflected in this minibus are indicative of that goal. We have a long way to go, but this is another step in the right direction.
